We want you to create your registry in the easiest way possible. Therefore, if you plan to be using The Gift Register online, on a computer, we advise you follow the video instructions below to make use of the bookmark button. This is the quickest way to build your list. You can add items from your web browser in just a few clicks… it’s hands down the quickest way to build your list (unless you are using a pre-made quick list 🙂

When you are done & ready to share, please ensure you edit your list, convert it to ‘shared’, select an end date, and then view your list to see your unique ‘Gift list URL’ which is listed just above your first item. DO NOT copy the URL from the web browser. It won’t work. Check the FAQ videos for more information.

Last but not least, educate your guests to select the gifts they want to give and ‘mark them as purchased’ so that they effectively ‘come off the list’ which will avoid double-ups. Instructions on doing this can be found via the FAQ video.

Let’s get you started with the Bookmark Button!

To install, simply drag the blue button below to your bookmark bar.

To use, load up the item you would like to add to your list in your browser, then click the bookmark button. You will notice a box appear in the right top corner of your page. After signing up or logging in, you will see the details of the item you are looking at. Review the information, then select an existing list, or create a new list to add the item to. Click ‘Save List’, and the job is done. A full demonstration is available in the above video.

Note: This button is in ‘Beta release’ and therefore may not completely work on 100% of websites. For e.g. myer.com.au has security which does not allow us to save images from their site, and there isn’t much we can do about that at this stage. However if you find the button not working on any of your favourite sites, please let us know via [email protected], and in most cases our programmers will be able to rectify it for you.

As a guide, if you know what you are looking for, you should be able to add between 50-60 items in an hour – which is really fast work! All done in the comfort of your own home. The hardest part is just deciding what you want!! (Hint … thats where our ‘pre-made’ iOS app lists come in handy!)
